GLENN WESLEY HOLLINGSWORTH

Past Post 130 Commander 1950-1951

Glenn Wesley Hollingsworth, age 86, of LaBelle, passed away October 15, 2009 in Cape Coral FL.

Mr. Hollingsworth, born on 17 July 1923 in White Star, KY, served in the Marine Corps, 4th Division, during World War II.

A past commander of Dana-Howard-Weekley American Legion Post 130, Mr Hollingsworth held that prestigious position from 1950 to 1951. Raised in Lynch, KY and a graduate of Lynch, KY High School, Mr. Hollingsworth continued his education and graduated from Western Kentucky University.

After moving to LaBelle, FL, he taught and coached at LaBelle High School. In addition to his coaching and teaching careers, Mr Hollingsworth owned the Gulf View Restaurant in LaBelle, FL as well as the Town and Country Men's Clothing Store in Ft. Myers, FL. He served as a Parole and Probation Officer for twenty years in Hendry, Glades, Palm Beach and Collier Counties.
